Computer engineering education fundamentally covers computer science, hardware and software. Since hardware is also a subject within electrical and electronics engineering, the general focus of the education is computer science and software development.
Technological knowledge such as programming languages, development environments and operating system usage are the real determining factors in the computer industry. Accordingly, many certificate programs, and even courses with “engineering” in their names, are offered under market conditions.
