2024 Educational Goals

  • Having graduates with university experience to lead the sector

  • Providing opportunities for our students to discover their potential

  • Providing learning experiences involving the most advanced technological and engineering applications

  • Ensuring the MUDEK accreditation criteria in engineering education

  • To provide the students with the learning experience that they can put in their CVs with project-based elective courses in order to gain expertise in the sector.

  • Maintaining Undergraduate Education and Training with Innovative and Creative Approaches on Essential Academic Bases,

  • Evaluation of HK Engineering holistic approach in undergraduate programs and a curriculum based on specific MÜDEK

  • Increasing and enabling internationalization and nationwide promotion in undergraduate programs

  • Expansion of teaching by creating a project only from classroom closed environment and encouraging teaching methods based on experiment and project,

  • Increasing the level of research in undergraduate education, strengthening graduate education and teaching with innovative and creative approaches

  • Establishing mechanisms for encouraging successful students with high GPA in graduate programs,

  • Improving the qualifications and increasing the number of PhD graduates and developing methods to reach more advanced level in the field of research,

  • Encouraging undergraduate and graduate students to gain experience both at home and internationally and to increase job opportunities,

  • Increasing the efficiency of graduate thesis processes,

  • Renovation of worn out instruments and devices as a result of the use of laboratories over time, establishment of new laboratories such as electromagnetics and antennas according to technological needs,

  • Conducting studies in line with the aim of guaranteeing the acquisition of the desired knowledge, skills and behaviors to the students,

  • In this context, students will be prepared for engineering practice with a basic design experience that will use the knowledge and skills acquired in the previous courses and include engineering standards and realistic constraints and conditions.

  • Our faculty accreditation process within the scope of the implementation of the MUDEK program to make progress,

  • To follow and improve the activities in the fields of graduation project course, M.Sc. thesis management, course load within the scope of education and training activities,

  • To implement new technologies in educational activities,

  • More emphasis should be placed on laboratory course practices, which are the environment for the practical teaching of courses in the academic year,

  • To increase the laboratory facilities,

  • Measure how much qualifications are achieved and make necessary improvements through surveys,

  • To apply project based education as the main teaching method in HKU engineering education and to introduce project based education as a way of thinking in engineering education,

  • Establishing national and international recognized engineering curriculum and standards by providing MÜDEK accreditation and requirements

  • Improving and updating the physical infrastructure for providing a quality learning environment and facilities

  • To create academic staff with high skills and capacity to contribute to faculty activities in the fields of education, research and entrepreneurship

  • Considering the following program outcomes adopted,

2024 Research Goals

  • To create research groups focused on specific subjects in the fields of Engineering and Architecture,

  • Research and development projects for the economic / social needs in the fields of Energy, Construction Material Technologies, Building Information Technologies and Management, Cultural Heritage, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Imaging,

  • To maximize the research potential of academic staff and to gain depth,

  • Developing global information exchange, cooperation and partnerships,

  • To be an effective and contributing faculty in the field of Built Environment on a regional, national and international scale,

  • HKU Faculty of Engineering to strengthen the culture of science, research, creativity, innovation,

  • Maintaining qualified research, disseminating this culture,

  • Making science, research, creativity and innovation visible,

  • Strengthening the academic staff and resources,
    Increasing opportunities for greater use of research resources,

  • Developing opportunities to transform research into economic value and social benefit,

  • In this context, making progress by taking into consideration criteria and scoring in the fields of funded project, patent, TTO expert module, SCI and publication, book, conference,

  • To take measures to bring the academic studies carried out in our faculty to a better and more effective level and to turn them into practice,

  • To increase interdisciplinary joint work and project issues further,

  • Determining the issues that may be of common interest in the fields of Construction, Electrical-Electronics and Computer Engineering so as to support this interdisciplinary work in an incremental manner,

  • Conducting all faculties in phases and starting from student level to academic staff level,

  • To present the study subjects to all our students and academics with an introduction to the faculty and to increase the level of interest and awareness,

  • To ensure the communication and academic work environment between academic staff and students to be more efficient and productive, and to ensure that the results obtained are reflected in the courses and have a field of application through projects,

  • To integrate the Built Environment Research Center (YAÇEM), which was established with the aim of conducting research and development activities, to the field of activity more effectively,

  • To ensure that the existing culture is taken further and to ensure maximum utilization of the master’s and doctoral studies carried out at the Institute of Science and Technology of the Faculty,

  • To establish interdisciplinary research groups with the Built Environment Research Center within the scope of Strategic Plans, to increase and deepen the research culture, To create scientific expertise in the fields of Computer, Electronics and Civil Engineers,

  • In addition to this, it is monitored whether the research and development targets are achieved with the desired publication performance evaluation and academic workload reports every year,

  • To develop analytical thinking capacities by giving research and project studies to our students and to gain lifelong learning skills and abilities,

  • To establish a Structured Environmental Research Center consisting of research groups and to deepen the research culture by making research projects, publications and application projects related to the sector and producing outputs such as books, articles, papers, patents.

 

2024 Industry-Specific Activity Goals

  • Collaboration with the sector in the field of Built Environment, which requires interdisciplinary work with YAÇEM,

  • Providing scientific support in the sector by exchanging ideas of academicians from different disciplines,

  • To create an eco-system in which environmental culture is imbued with the ability to think critically.

  • Particularly in the field of sustainability, contributing to the environment, society, city and economy constitutes the principle aspect of our research vision.

  • To provide our students with work experience and maturity by working in the sector while they are still students at the last stage of project-based education with Applied Education in Industry (COOP-Training),

  • To collaborate with Kalyon Group in construction and energy systems projects and to deepen cooperation at various levels by contributing to research and development.

  • Increasing cooperation with the industry (Technopark – clustering), establishing close cooperation with engineering chambers and non-governmental organizations, establishing and deepening the industry-academy network where the latest technology and knowledge is shared in engineering applications.

 

2024 Entrepreneurship Goals

  • To support our students and graduates with campus opportunities and sector-based techno parks to establish their own workplaces

  • Networking for the business world where the latest engineering practices and knowledge are shared, and practitioners can be updated with training and seminars and knowledge and skills

  • Developing strategic partnerships with Kalyon Group in energy systems and construction,

  • To provide support and support to the construction sector in the field of BIM (Building Information Modeling and Management), which includes interdisciplinary design and construction philosophy,

 

2024 Administrative Management Process Goals

  • Hasan Kalyoncu University Faculty of Engineering to make the decisions to be taken more participatory processes, to ensure that the views of academicians are received by meetings, free meetings and e-mail held by the dean, vice deans and department heads

  • To ensure that the expectations of the students are taken into consideration with the interviews held with the students during both office hours and class hours,

  • Planning communications and interviews with important representatives of the sector, employers’ organizations, companies engaged in industry and industry, graduate students and part-time faculty members who are also on the MÜDEK external advisory board,

  • To apply the determined inputs in decision processes,

  • To ensure continuous monitoring and improvement of processes, to create suitable environments for this purpose,

  • To create processes to develop both MÜDEK and programs,

  • Strengthening, Weaknesses, Opportunity and Threat (SWOT) analysis within the scope of the evaluation process in our Faculty of Engineering,

  • Laboratories, classes and related departments of our faculty to be kept under control, to provide this service in case of any technical service need,

  • To indicate which department is responsible for the places such as class, room, laboratory, support system in our faculty in order to make the control more effective, to indicate with the list and room number,

 

2024 Planning and Execution Goals

  • OBS data entry in student registration and renewal, student attendance status, COOP status, repetition of the course, such as full and accurate entry of the data to follow, if necessary to ensure corrective measures,

  • To ensure the follow-up of the students’ data and to keep them regularly error-free,

  • Course registration, control, follow-up and correction system,

  • To include the guests who are determined according to the administrative process needs to the article of the Faculty Board Meeting and to ensure that there is a solution,

  • Organizing department and process meetings with department faculty members in certain periods and creating department culture,

  • To ensure that this culture created within the department is integrated with the common culture to be established within the Faculty,

  • To develop this culture in accordance with the engineering dimension of our departments and faculty in addition to the issues in the legislation,

  • To present this common culture to new faculty members within the orientation program and to plan how, with whom, when, where and what to do,

  • To apply engineering orientation program to our new students,

  • To develop the process definition for each unit in our faculty and to develop the job descriptions including the tasks, each responsible person to whom, how to report, what is expected from him, what he will pay attention to when planning, and how to do,

  • To increase the institutional structure and efficiency for the planning and implementation of academic duties and responsibilities, where the workload model, evaluation processes and standards, student registration regulations, ethical principles are applied with precision.

 

2024 Education and Training Process Goals

  • Within the scope of MÜDEK program, the process of being accredited in the education and training processes is continuing and in this process, the development of the faculty and students in a way that best meets the conditions,

  • In order to determine what the target is and what to measure in the surveys, the most appropriate questions will be put on the agenda,

  • In order to increase the success level of our students, feedback is received in order to work together and to ensure that the staff makes their own internal query,

  • To make program offers and dissemination for the development of English level of our students, to create a support program on this subject.

 

2024 Social Activity Process Goals

  • To conduct social activities within the departments within the faculty, with the participation of Research Assistant, faculty member, relevant staff and students during certain weeks of the month

  • Interview with our students to create a system to get their views, Increasing mutual trust, perceiving unexplained problems, creating opportunities for transferring solutions if any.

  • Increasing the satisfaction rate of academic staff,

  • To increase the satisfaction rate of administrative personnel,

  • To increase student satisfaction,

  • To place the awareness of fulfilling the necessary responsibilities for society and environment at all levels.

  • To train, attract and develop qualified human resources.
